The unit is also in-charge of advising on compliance with the corporate governance and best practice ethics and code for both public and private companies. It maintains a good liaison with the relevant government institutions and departments, such as the Central Bank of Nigeria , Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Petroleum Resources, Nigerian Communication Commission, National Environmental Standards Regulatory and Enforcement Authority, National Insurance Supervisory Commission, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Standard Organization of Nigeria, National Electricity Regulatory Commission, Federal Ministry of Works, Trademarks, Patents and Copyrights Commission and other Regulatory bodies across the country. The unit also handles corporate secretarial briefs for companies, including scheduling of meetings, attendance of same, drawing up resolutions and filing of same with the appropriate agency. It works with the corporate commercial Unit in the conduct of corporate due diligence.
